Respondents were asked the following question: "SPEAKING OF THE CURRENT SITUATION IN RUSSIA, WHICH OF THE FOLLOWING PROBLEMS DO YOU FIND MOST DANGEROUS AND WORRISOME FOR THE NATION?" They were offered a card that listed 25 problems, and were allowed to pick up to five responses.

We can group all the problems to find the main "painful points" in contemporary society. They are as follows: high level of crime and poor security; socioeconomic problems; corruption and lawlessness among the authorities in general; the situation in Chechnya, which is a catalyst for inter-ethnic conflicts and tension in our society.

Overall, Russians consider drug-addiction to be problem number one.
