WHICH HOLIDAY IS THE MAIN ONE?

Respondents were asked: «WHICH HOLIDAYS DO YOU USUALLY CELEBRATE DURING THE YEAR?» Respondents were offered a list of 16 holidays: public and private, orthodox and secular. It turned out that the following holidays are the favorites (in % of those surveyed):

Residents of Moscow and St. Petersburg, respondents with higher education, and people under 35 celebrate holidays most often.

Young people (under 35) celebrate the old New Year more often than the elderly (43%, versus 22% among people over 50), Valentine's Day (24% and 8%, respectively), and Russia's Independence Day (17% and 8%, respectively).

We should note that women's day - the 8th of March - is equally preferred by men and women (63% and 65%, respectively), while the men's holiday – the 23rd of February – is celebrated by men more often (43%) than by women (29%).
